Town Fields Community Group

Town Field Community Group are a small, constituted group of local residents. They all have a passion to look after the beautiful local park and want to see it being used for the benefit of their community, whilst ensuring that it does not become spoilt.

They approached Community Wealth Builder looking for support on a range of issues including the possibility of joining with another organisation to form a Community Interest Company (CIC).  The team was able to provide all parties with the information they required, steps to take to complete the process and implications regarding registering with Companies House etc.  The group felt that they would prefer to stay as a constituted group and Community Wealth Builder supported them to ensure that their constitution was updated, and they had all of the relevant policies in place to ensure that they were compliant.

The Community group has gone from strength to strength holding two 2 events at the local park; the Family Fun Day and the Doncaster Kite Festival both of which were well attended. The Doncaster Kite Festival generating an attendance in excess of 2000, and a wealth of local businesses benefitted economically from being able to have a stall at the event or from increased footfall before and after the events.  Community Wealth Builder supported the group in sharing their events and the amazing work they do on social media platforms and with local community members and organisations.

The organisation was successful in applying for a Community Wealth Builder Capital Grant to purchase much needed IT equipment to enable them to run the group more efficiently.
