Fighting Diabetes Together: A Day of Learning, Support, and Hope
This past Saturday marked a truly inspiring day of community spirit, collaboration, and empowerment as residents, healthcare professionals, and local organisations came together for our diabetes information event that was as informative as it was heart-warming.
Despite it being one of the hottest days this year, the event saw an impressive turnout from residents eager to engage in sessions, activities, and conversations focused on diabetes education and support. The day was a shining example of partnership working in action, with a diverse range of contributors - from NHS staff and guest speakers to local businesses, voluntary groups, and stallholders - all generously giving their time and expertise.
The event also sparked new ideas and initiatives, with several attendees expressing interest in starting peer support groups and signing up for local walking clubs. The enthusiasm for continued learning and community engagement was palpable throughout the day.
For the Be Well team, the event offered valuable insights and reflections, reinforcing the importance of listening, learning, and evolving to better serve the community.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who made the day possible β and to every resident who showed up, participated, and shared their story. Together, weβre building a healthier, more connected community.
We Want to Hear From You
While the event was a great success, we know that the best way to keep improving is by listening to the people who matter most β you.
Whether you attended a talk, visited a stall, joined an activity, or simply stopped by for a chat, your thoughts and experiences are incredibly valuable to us. What did you enjoy most? What could we do better next time? Are there topics or speakers you'd like to see in the future?
Your feedback helps us shape future events to better meet the needs of our community. It also ensures we continue to provide meaningful, accessible, and empowering opportunities for learning and support around diabetes and overall health.
π Please take a few minutes to share your feedback β every comment counts, and we truly appreciate your input.
